The Pelco SD5BCBW-PG-E is ideal for installations where structural integrity and resistance to vandalism are a priority. The back box is designed to tolerate a high degree of abuse and the lower dome, constructed of .177-inch thick acrylic, provides an optimum combination of strength and optical clarity.
Added thickness, dual wall construction and geometric design enhance the overall durability of the Heavy-Duty Spectra without adding unnecessary weight. The spherical shape enhances its impact resistance to possible intrusive force. Barrel type key locks increase the tamper resistance of the unit. Without a key, the effort required to remove the lower dome by a potential vandal is greatly increased.
The in-ceiling model has a reinforced mounting system for added security. Once installed the mounting system strengthens the stability of the structure, increasing the unit's overall resistance to vandalism. To optimize the integrity of the vandal-resistant design, the in-ceiling back box should only be installed in a fixed ceiling (not recommended for drop ceiling installation). Both pendant models are strengthened by a thick shroud and dual wall construction, and are NEMA 4X and IP66 rated. The environmental pendant includes a heater and fan. Pendant models can be mounted to a pole or wall using the IWM Spectra wall mount.
The lower dome of the Heavy-Duty Spectra features a thick acrylic bubble and a trim ring with all aluminum construction. The increased thickness of the lower dome meets Pelco's stringent standards for optimum optical clarity and strength. The trim ring of the lower dome has an increased thickness for added back box protection, and two barrel type key locks.
