The Sony PDWHR1, the latest addition to the XDCAM family, is a highly mobile field recorder. Its design is similar to PDW-R1 SD Field Recorder, but this recorder provides a lot of additional functionalities. Firstly this recorder supports all the XDCAM formats as standard, including the frame rate of 23.98P in 1080i mode and SD (DVCAM and MPEG IMX). Also new concept GUI for EDL-based editing and direct DVB-ASI output provides the field operator more flexible workflow.
Its compact, lightweight body makes the PDW-HR1 ideal for use in the field as a pool-feed recorder, backup recorder, comact recorder installed in an extremely confined space such as a car or helicopter and simple field editor by itself.
