The Sony SVT124 is a full-featured 24 hour time lapse recorder in a compact design. Perfect for applications with limited space. This time lapse VCR records in a range from 4.6 to 8.6 fields per second. Through reduction of the number of fields recorded per second, this VCR is capable of recording for extended periods of time on a standard video tape (up to a maximum of 26 hours).
As a result, the SVT-124 VCR is extremely useful for long term monitoring or recording events that take place slowly (such as the blooming of a flower). If a tape that has been recorded in time lapse mode is played back in the normal two-hour mode the speed of the tape will be increased 7 to 13 times, depending on the speed the original recording was made at, so that the slow changes that were recorded can be viewed at a much faster speed.
