TDK's 4mm data cartridges are designed for large capacity back-up data storage, where data integrity is of high priority. To safeguard data integrity, TDK's advanced coating technology comes to bear, ensuring the magnetic formulation is consistent throughout and any roughness in the base film is not transferred to the magnetic coating. All 4mm data cartridges are suitable for DDS, DDS-2, and MRS (Media Recognition System) systems.
TDK's 4mm data cartridges utilize TDK's proprietary metal particle 'Super Finavinx', a formulation offering superb output characteristics. A Three Dimensional Compound (TDC) binder system assures that the metal formulation is densely packed and uniformly dispersed onto the tape surface. It's the combination of the Super Finavinx particles and exacting coating technology that results in stable magnetic characteristics.
Consistent, accurate read/write operation requires a precision smoothness in the tape's surface. The tiniest surface irregularities can cause spacing losses and lead to errors. To make sure the roughness of the base film is not transferred to the magnetic layer, the base film is crafted for ultra-smoothness. This is supplemented by an advanced coating technology, ensuring precise smooth application of the magnetic formulation to the tape's surface.
