Description of Convergent Flash XDR™
Convergent Design introduces the Flash XDR (Xstream Data Recorder), a CompactFlash based ultra-portable HD field
recorder. Flash XDR features HD-SDI (with embedded audio and time-code), 1394, LTC (time-code), and ASI (MPEG2 over SDI) I/O, 4-Channel AES inputs as well as two CompactFlash card slots in a lightweight, battery-powered box. The design
utilizes scalable HD MPEG2 compression to capture video at HDV, XDCAM HD, or 50 Mbps 4:2:2 data-rates.
Made specially for the JVC GY-HD110U, GY-HD200U, and GY-HD250U
camcorders, the Flash-XDR is ultra-portable and low-power design,
which means you can carry it on any shoot and enjoy a full-day of
battery-powered operation. This rugged, lightweight, self-contained
unit can be easily carried in a backpack, placed in a helicopter or used as
a pool-feed recorder. Create simultaneous offline clones in the field
from the HD-SDI output of your online HD VTR. Compact Flash cards can be
readily swapped-out for endless recording possibilities. Finally, for
maximum versatility, ASI HDV deck / camcorder / FireWire drive /Walkman
device.
