The TLR2168 is a full-featured, versatile 168-hour time-lapse recorder designed for the most demanding security applications. Offering the widest range of useable record and playback modes in our line, the TLR2168 will perform flawlessly in almost any CCTV application. It is especially suited for Multiplexer use. Its 7-day record capability makes the TLR2168 a perfect choice for applications requiring continuous coverage over a long period of time with minimum tape changes. Recording modes include standard VHS 2- and 6-hour real-time modes in addition to high-density 18-hour linear "real-time" recording. The L18H hour mode uses triple-density recording technology to increase the field-recording rate. This means a field rate of 20 fields/second with 24 hours of recording time using T-160 VHS tape in the L18H mode, enough information for most critical recording applications. Audio capabilities are included in all these modes as well as the L24H mode. VHS-compatible time-lapse modes available with the TLR2168 are L24H, 48H, 72H, 96H, 120H and 168H. All but the L24H mode are capable of both SP and EP (high-density) recording modes for increased field recording rates using standard high quality T120 VHS tapes. Programming menus appear on the monitor output to provide easy setup of any of the programmable features. Menus are even available with no active video input. A lock mode disables all front panel controls, preventing any changes to the unit’s programming or operation. The TLR2168 can also be programmed to repeat record. This means that when the end of the tape is reached, the unit will automatically rewind and begin recording again. If an alarm is received at any time during recording, the unit will stop at the end of the tape. The TLR2168 also has an end-of-tape output that can be used to activate another recorder. With this feature, multiple TLR2168s can be interconnected to increase the record time capabilities of the system. A tape-use indicator displays the number of times the same tape has been recorded in the repeat-record mode to facilitate tape replacement and management. In addition to the tape use indicator, an elapsed time indicator enables the owner to monitor head usage to plan for scheduled maintenance and replacement. Special playback features include speed search and reverse playback. Using the front panel jog/shuttle control, users can quickly search through the recording in either direction, then easily switch to forward/reverse field-by-field movement for detailed study. The TLR2168 also provides the ability to search to the minute (in all modes) for a specific date and time. Automatic Alarm Search is a programmable feature of the TLR2168. Index Search allows the operator to go to a specific indexed alarm. Skip Search finds alarms during fast forward or rewind; the VCR slows down to 2H or 6H speed for about four seconds when it finds an alarm, then resumes searching for the next alarm. The TLR2168 provides a programmable clock pulse output that enables it to be easily interfaced to Pelco's Genex(TM) series multiplexers for automatic speed tracking.
