The Extron MediaLink System is a family of easy-to-use and economical products that work together to control A/V equipment in any small, one-projector classroom, boardroom, or auditorium. The MediaLink Controller acts as an extended remote control panel, and can be mounted on a wall, podium, or A/V equipment rack. The MediaLink Switchers can be used in conjunction with the MediaLink Controller, or as stand-alone switchers. There are also a variety of MediaLink Accessories that include Architectural Adapter Plates (AAP), remotes, wall plates, mounting brackets, and junction boxes.

To select the right MediaLink product for any given environment, the following should be considered:

• What type of control do you need for your A/V system?

• How many sources will be used?

• Does your system require audio?

• What type of device will display the video? 

The MediaLink System is built to streamline operations and simplify control by integrating audio, video, and computer-video sources into a centralized, easy-to-use A/V system.

The diagram below shows a typical application utilizing the MediaLink Controller and the MediaLink Switcher with an integrated Mono Audio amplifier. Several audio, video, and computer-video sources are connected to the switcher. There are four speakers for audio distribution. The MediaLink controller acts as an extended remote control panel, and tells the projector when to switch between its various inputs. 

Various Types Available:

MediaLink Controllers: The MLC - MediaLink Controller is the heart of the MediaLink System. It can be used by itself for standardizing the control interface of a system, effectively becoming an extended remote control unit, or in tandem with almost every Extron switcher, including the MediaLink Switchers.

MediaLink Switchers: MLS - MediaLink Switchers enable system expansion when more inputs are required than what the projector can handle. MediaLink Switchers are designed to be used in conjunction with the MediaLink Controller to facilitate low-cost integration. They can also be used as stand-alone switchers.

IP Intercom: The Extron IP Intercom System is an easy-to-use two-way intercom designed specifically to meet the needs of the education market. Using a school's existing local area network, the IP Intercom System makes it easy to deploy live help desk support for every classroom. These do not require any upgrades to network protocols and are designed to work with any healthy network.

MediaLink Accessories: MediaLink Accessories can be used with the MediaLink Controllers and Switchers. They include an assortment of AAP-Architectural Adapter Plates, remotes, faceplates, mounting brackets, and junction boxes.
