Red Prime Video Encoder-Servers
Offer More Value for the Money
A March 2007 survey of video encoder server manufacturers revealed some interesting results. One of the main highlights of the survey was the fact that none of the usual players in the video server space provides H.264. Yet. They all use MPEG-4, MPEG-2 or MJPEG encoding technologies. None have reached into the realm of H.264 which is becoming the standard in IPTV and broadcast industries. Red Prime is definitely leading the pack for the surveillance industry.
In terms of pricing per channel, the graph below highlights the distribution of brands. There are those that lie above $1000 per channel and those that sit below. None of the products below $1000 offer dual streaming, two-way audio, motion detection, and all the features typically found in higher priced units. While all the brands that cost over $1000 per channel include many of the features that Red Prime provides, none do so with H.264 compression. In addition, Red Prime includes car counting which is valued at over $900 alone by some suppliers. You are truly getting more value for the money with the RPT- 1000.
