Navitar 12X Zoom Lens System with Telecentric options |
|
|
The Navitar 12X Zoom lenses offer the highest combination of zoom range and resolution in an optical system. Ideal for high magnification applications requiring the optimal balance between optical performance, large zoom range and price, the 12X Zoom offers incredible 12X (0.58-7X) magnification, increased resolution with 0.004-0.550 N.A., and unmatched edge flatness and clarity.
12X-Telecentric-Zoom system allows users to reach a true telecentric condition to within less than 0.3° while maintaining constant perspective and magnification. There are three telecentric adapters available for use with the special 12X Zoom Lens developed for telecentric attachments, Straight (no coax), straight with coax, right angle folded. Each has a working distance of 188mm. Magnifications range from 0.16X to 1.94X with the upper 1X Adapter and 0.32X to 3.88X with the 2X Adapter. Maximum field of view is 50mm.

Adapter Plates and Mounts
These adapter plates allow you to utilize the shoulder of the zoom as a secure place of mounting instead of the adapter tubes. In applications where vibration is of concern, consider a flat mount option. Flat mounts will ensure product stability and image quality. Universal clamps attach to the adapter tube portion of the zoom system and allow for more creative and flexible mounting solutions when integrating the zoom system into a machine or in a laboratory environment where space is limited.

Adapter Tubes
An adapter tube is a required component for the complete 12X Zoom system. When combined with the C-mount coupler, the adapter tube places the camera sensor at the optical image plane of the zoom system. Most adapter tubes contain some kind of focusing action to critically align the sensor with the image plane, thus producing a system that zooms in focus (parfocal zoom).

Right Angle (RA) and Non-Inverting Right Angle (NIRA) Adapter Tubes
Right Angle (RA) adapters introduce a 90° bend in the optical axis, shortening the overall length of the system. The resulting image will be mirrored, thus erect and read backwards from right to left when viewed with a camera. Right Angle adapters are available in magnification ranges from 0.71X to 5.0X.
A Non-Inverting Right Angle (NIRA) adapter introduces a 90° bend in the optical axis, however the use of a penta prism results in an image that is erect and reads left to right. NIRA adapters must be fitted to the 12X Zoom body tubes in order to maintain path length. NIRA adapters are available in magnification ranges from 0.67X to 5.0X.

The 12X Zoom system body tube contains the core zoom mechanism and determines the mechanical nature of your zoom system. Body Tubes may be zoom or non-zoom configurations. Options include:
Manual Zoom Modules: Designed to offer flexibility in a variety of imaging applications when an automated system is not necessary. Manual adjustment of the zoom and focus allow the user to change the field of view and regain focus when the sample they are imaging changes size.
Apertures: The aperture function allows the user to adjust the amount of light that flows through the system without adjusting light source intensity. The aperture also can improve depth of field when it is adjusted properly.
Detents: Obtain specific "stops" throughout the zoom range by selecting a body tube with Detents. Typically used in systems where each position requires calibration, detents allow for pre-set stops at 0.58X, 2X, 2.5X, 3X, 3.5X, 4X, 4.5X, 5X, 5.5X, 6X, and 6.5X on the zoom scale.
Fine Focus: For applications without separate moving support systems, the Fine Focus body tubes offer focus over a 3 mm (coaxial models only) or a 12 mm (non-coaxial models) Fine Focus axial distance at the object. Available in manual and motorized versions.
Motorized Drive: Automated, motorized control of the zoom and fine focus can be requested. Accurate and repeatable positions can be achieved. Several configurations exist to allow you to flexible options.
Coaxial Illumination: Coaxial / on axis illumination is most effective when imaging flat specular surfaces. By integrating the coaxial illumination port, a collimated, diffused and uniform illumination source is integrated into a zoom lens.

12X Zoom Couplers
C-Mount: The camera industry standard for coupling to camera sensors that are smaller than 20 mm in diagonal is a “C-mount”. This is required on all Zoom 6000 and 12x zoom systems that are used with cameras that have sensors that are 20 mm diagonal or smaller.
Microscope Objective Couplers: Designed to allow for the coupling of Infinity corrected objectives to the UltraZoom 6000. 800 x 36T, M26 x 36T and M25 x 36T couplers are available.

12X Lens Attachments
Lens attachments for the 12X Zoom system attach to the base of the system body tube and are available in a variety of magnifications. The nominal working distance of the zoom system is approximately 90mm. Lens attachments thread onto the bottom of the zoom system and can extend the working distance out to 350 mm or pull it in as close as 36 mm. The extending lenses (0.75X, 0.5X, and 0.25X) decrease the overall magnification, and increase the field of view. The shortening lenses (1.5X and 2.0X) increase the magnification and decrease the field of view. As the working distance goes from long to short, the "taking NA" of the system increases, resulting in an increase in resolving power.
Telecentric Attachments
There are three telecentric adapters available for use with the special 12X Zoom Lens, Straight (no coax), straight with coax, right angle folded. Each has a working distance of 188mm. Magnifications range from 0.16X to 1.94X with the upper 1X Adapter and 0.32X to 3.88X with the 2X Adapter. Maximum field of view is 50mm.
Right Angle (RA) Attachments
Navitar offers the object side right angle lens attachment for use with our 12X Zoom system. The attachment is added to the front of the 12XZoom and can be used with all lens attachments except for the 1-50015.
