The DM812 from Lectrosonics is a digital audio processor, that shares many of the DSP functions common in the marketplace, but with a very comprehensive routing system that allows any input to be patched to any single or multiple outputs simultaneously. Primary applications include sound reinforcement, boardroom conferencing, houses of worship, courtrooms and hotels. Any place which requires the use of multiple microphones and loudspeakers.

The unit provides 8 microphone/line inputs, 12 line outputs (4switchable to microphone output) with each input possessing a fixed sequence of multiple DSP filters, ADFE (automatic digital feedback eliminator), a compressor and a digital delay. During the routing stage (the matrix mixer), gain can be adjusted and then each output provides a digital delay, multiple DSP filters and a compressor/limiter. Modules have extensive editing parameters, and can be switched in or out of the signal path as required.

DM812 features include:

  • Digital matrix processor with 8 microphone/line inputs, 12 line outputs (4switchable to microphone output)
  • 8 x 12 digital matrix mixing with gain adjustable from -69dB to +20dB
  • Microphone outputs can be used for connecting to a recording device
  • Proportional gain auto mixing algorithm with "AutoSkew," a process that eliminates artifacts such as comb filtering and abrupt gating that occur with conventional automatic mixing schemes
  • Auto mixing operates at the output of the matrix, with each input channel being able to participate differently in each output mix
  • Each output has its own NOM (Number of Open Microphones) mixing bus
  • 6 filter stages plus compressor, ADFE (Automatic Digital Feedback Elimination) and delay on each input
  • 9 filter stages plus compressor, limiter and delay on each output
  • 128 macros available for storing up to 64 commands per macro
  • USB and RS-232 interfaces for setup and control
  • Digital I/O ports for "daisy chaining" and to connect other LecNet 2 devices
  • AMX and CRESTRON compatible
